Ingredients
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 pears, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 cup fresh or frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
- 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon powder
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1–2 tbsp water or orange juice
- Optional: a splash of vanilla extract or a few chopped nuts for topping
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine apples, pears, berries, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and water/orange juice.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruits are tender but still hold their shape, about 8–10 minutes.
Stir in a splash of vanilla extract for extra aroma (optional).
Serve warm as a side for pancakes, muffins, French toast, or even on yogurt.
Garnish with chopped nuts or a sprinkle of extra cinnamon if desired.
