Rice Pudding with Cinnamon

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions:
In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice becomes tender and the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency, about 20-30 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Discard the cinnamon sticks. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with ground cinnamon.
