Licorice Root and Ginger Cough Syrup

Make effective cough syrup at home using licorice root and ginger to soothe cough naturally.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon dried licorice root powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions:

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the grated ginger and dried licorice root powder to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. Strain the mixture into a bowl and let it cool slightly.

Add 1 cup of honey and stir well until it is fully dissolved. You can also add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice for additional flavor and benefits. Now pour the syrup into a clean glass jar and store it in the refrigerator.

Take 1-2 tablespoons of this coup syrup as needed to soothe cough.
